This app was released in October 2008 and the primary goal of the app was summarized on iTunes with the following paragraph

Note: Since the 2008 election was in the past, the app will not receive any more updates from our backend web-service and it displays a static final snapshot of the 2008 US presidential election.

 

The app is now a great reference to the 2008 election with poll numbers (from September to November), commentary, issue polls and the final results.
